What is MUN?

A Model United Nations (MUN) is a simulation of the United Nations where students step into the shoes of diplomats and world leaders to debate pressing global issues. It provides a platform for young minds to research, discuss, and negotiate solutions to challenges such as climate change, human rights, security, and economic development.

At its core, MUN is not just about debating — it is about learning diplomacy, teamwork, leadership, and critical thinking. Delegates represent different countries, analyze policies, and craft resolutions, all while maintaining international cooperation and respect for diverse perspectives.

Participating in MUN develops essential life skills such as public speaking, negotiation, and problem-solving. It encourages participants to think beyond borders and understand the complexities of international relations.

For many students, MUN is also a place to meet like-minded peers, build confidence, and discover their passion for leadership and global affairs. Whether you aspire to be a diplomat, a lawyer, a business leader, or simply want to sharpen your communication skills, MUN provides an invaluable experience that prepares you for the real world.

SVCEMUNSOC

The SVCEMUNSOC has established itself as a vibrant platform for debate, diplomacy, and discussion. Over the years, it has consistently provided students with opportunities to sharpen their skills in public speaking, negotiation, and leadership. Starting with Parliamentary Debates, the society built a strong foundation for structured argumentation and critical thinking. From there, it moved on to hosting the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly (TNLA) Simulation, where participants engaged with real-world governance and state-level policy making.

With this experience, SVCEMUNSOC successfully launched its own INTRA-MUN, bringing the United Nations simulation to the SVCE campus. The event encouraged students to step into the shoes of diplomats, debate global issues, and draft impactful resolutions. Building on the overwhelming response, the society is now proud to present INTRA-MUN 2nd Edition

Backed by experience, enthusiasm, and a legacy of successful events, SVCEMUNSOC knows exactly how to organize and execute a Model United Nations. This year’s edition promises to be bigger, better, and more engaging, offering delegates an even richer platform to learn, debate, and lead.
